Motivation

Multimedia sensors can be used to observe the environment and the scene. This information can be extracted using multimedia analysis techniques. Multimedia sensors in agriculture and water applications are growing over time. Various sensors are employed to capture field and crop information. Along with in-field sensors, drones and satellites are used to sense the landscape remotely. Visual sensors are also employed to manage water resources and quality assessment. These sensors result in a massive amount of multimedia data. This workshop invites original research works on exploiting this data in agriculture and water applications. Topics for the workshop include, but are not limited to:-

  • Deep learning methods for agriculture and water data analysis
  • Data mining techniques for agriculture and water data analysis
  • Segmentation of drone/satellite/smartphone captured plant and landscape images
  • Crop-yield prediction using multimedia sensors
  • Time series models specifically in an agricultural context
  • Multimedia applications in precision agriculture
  • Multimedia applications in livestock management
  • Agriculture and water-related datasets

Researchers working on agriculture and water related cyber physical systems are encouraged to submit their original work. Length of workshop the workshop is intended to be a half day event with 6 to 8 oral presentations including a keynote address.
